Thorntree Surgery (TS3 9NB) is hosting the administration of the Covid-19 Vaccine for the Primary Care Network (PCN)
This information is to help you when you come for your vaccine.
Our surgeries are working closely together to ensure we vaccinate as many people as we can safely and efficiently.
Your help is as always appreciated
This is at the back of the surgery in the lane.
We need you to wear a face covering even if you feel you are exempt.
We will be as speedy & safe as possible.
Make sure you are well wrapped for the weather.
We will check your temperature and do some pre-vaccine paperwork. If you do have a temperature, we will not be able to allow you in.
We must ask that you keep your distance from others. Keep at least a metre (a yard or 3 feet in “old money”) from others at a minimum.
If you are too early or there are too many in the Portacabin we may need some to wait in their cars.
This is inside the building.
Please wait in your allocated seat and maintain at least a 1 metre (1 yard/ 3 foot) distance from others.
During this time, please remove coats and have your LEFT arm bare ready to receive the vaccine.
The Marshall will direct you when the Nurse is ready for you.
The Nurse and an Administrator will be in the room and possibly a Pharmacist/ Doctor.
The Nurse will ensure you are safe to receive the vaccine by asking the screening questions.
If all is well the Nurse will administer the Vaccine and the Administrator will record the details.
You will receive a sticker that has the time you received the Vaccine written on, please put this on your chest area and you will be directed to the next step.. the Monitoring area
We may need to monitor you for 15 minutes. This depends on what vaccine you are given. Our supplies are dictated by the Government.
You may be asked to wait in a Portacabin located at the front of the building or you may be asked not to drive for 15 minutes after the vaccine to ensure you are well.
If, in the unlikely event you feel unwell staff are on hand to help.
Please let them know.
When the 15 minutes are up please check with the Marshall and you will be free to leave.
This information leaflet contains very useful information about the vaccine and after the vaccine.
